Released today for PC and consoles, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra is a game that is in pretty bad shape. The game feels unfinished, glitchy, with annoying enemies, and honestly, almost no saving grace. Aside from the colorful graphics and awesome soundtrack, well, and the story, I suppose, all the rest here is in dire need of an update. The combat isn’t fun, the enemies aren’t challenging or are way too much, and the waves are mostly made out of clones, it really feels like a game that is still in early beta.
It’s a shame seeing the game being released in this state, but game development is not easy, especially when using someone else’s IP. A lot of things that are out of the developer’s control can happen, and you know, contracts can ruin your life if breached.
While we don’t know what went on with the game, there are some hopes, thanks to some information I got with the dev. While I can’t disclose it right now, I will be able to do it in the coming weeks, hopefully.
While we wait for this supposed groundbreaking news, why don’t take a look at my take on what will be available in the stores later today?
You can grab the game right here (at your own risk):
