Developed by Gpoly, School Hero is an anime-themed beat ’em up, with old-school combat and awesome graphics. The game passes on Sakura High and you play as Hero, a newcomer who made the mistake of showing interest in the most popular girl from the school, and now, has to save her from her insane fans. Visually, the game is pretty impressive, with beautiful backgrounds, great animations, and interesting characters.
School Hero also counts with a vast number of easter eggs, making fun of videogame companies to famous characters. Aside from all the beating and kicking you will do in this game, there are also mini-games that you have to complete to advance in the game.
The combat feels right, with some good hit stuns, and while you don’t have a huge amount of moves, what you have here is more than enough to keep you engaged.
School Hero still has no date to be released, but the developer was kind enough to send me a key for the Steam Version, which I am currently playing. This version feels pretty polished, so I believe the release is not that far. Although, as of the moment of writing this article, I still haven’t beaten the game, so I can’t be sure how complete it is. The game is single-player only and will offer aside from the Story Mode, an Arcade, and a Survival Mode. I will make a video talking more in-depth about it so, keep your eyes here or on The Flying Kick Channel to keep updated with the latest news about School Hero, and much more.
